Slow Cooker Apple Pie
Ingredients:
2 c. all purpose flour
2/3 c. sugar
1/4 c. sugar
3 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
8 Tbs. butter cut into cubes
1 c. milk
2 medium tart apples (Granny Smith) peeled, cored and cubed
1/2 c. walnuts
1/2 c. Burleson's Pure Honey
1-1/2 c. orange juice
2 Tbs. butter, melted
1 tsp. cinnamon
1-1/3 c. sour cream
4 Tbs. powdered sugar
Directions:
Mix flour, 2/3 c. sugar, baking powder and salt in large mixing bowl. Cut in butter using two knives until the mixture is coarse. Stir in milk and form a stiff dough. Spread the dough into the bottom of a lightly greased slow cooker. Sprinkle the apples and walnuts over the layer of dough. Do not stir. In another mixing bowl, combine the orange juice, honey, 1/4 c. sugar, melted butter and cinnamon. Pour over the apple mixture. Do not stir. Cover and cook on high for 2-3 hours or until the apples are tender. Whip the sour cream and powdered sugar together and dollop on top of hot apple pie.
